Tendresse etc

Just came across this marble rendition of Ganymede and the eagle by Berthel Thorvaldson. Bloody lovely, and winningly dodgy with it.

  2. Yep. The Rubens is appallingly, teeth-grittingly, turn-awayingly embarrassing. It's got all the vices and none of the virtues of those gloriously dodgy covers of 1960s sci-fi magazines...
