The Troad is a fine field for conjecture and snipe-shooting, and a good scholar may exercise their feet and faculties to great advantage upon the spot
Careful Pluvi! Goshawks GO FOR THE EYES! :-D
Did you try to leave me a link to a video? I don't think it worked. Oh well...long live bear grylls
"...uh...what is it? Oh...it's that thing again...is it tasty...??......I don't remember......bite it....yuck!...drop it...uh...what is it?....Oh...it's that thing again..."
Ah, Moro: you have captured the short-term brain of the goshawk perfectly! I know that she doesn't think it's food, though, or at all tasty. If she did, it would be too dangerous to play with her! She's usually even more playful, turning her head right upside down, and making little squeaks. But I think the camera was a little offputting.I am ashamed. I have a goshawk I'm playing with. As if she were a house cat. Bad falconer. Tut tut :)
Why is it bad to play? "Softens" the animal? I've just found your blog and am enchanted by your writing. And by Mabel *thump thump*.
