The Troad is a fine field for conjecture and snipe-shooting, and a good scholar may exercise their feet and faculties to great advantage upon the spot
How very ... brave.Saw the Corvus book on display some weeks ago. Great work!
Poor Birdoole. It's all Mabel Mabel Mabel. :-)
Birdoole loved this perch! And yes, he hasn't had much blogging attention, has he. But life's not bad. He gets far more cuddles than Mabel, and Mabel doesn't have an awesome sleeping box and toys to play with....
The Birdoole looks quite at home! For some reason this picture reminds me of my early teenage years with screech owls--my first "falconry" birds. I had them sit on homemade bow perches (approximated from my 1 stolen falconry book) and made hoods for them out of the ends of my socks. My falconry furniture skills have not come very far, actually.
Heh. Maybe you should get one of those Keas from NZ and see if you can train it. (Adorable picture, btw.)
