Book news

Well, it's done, and in, and it'll be published this summer! Much excitement and a sense that I don't quite know what to do with myself now I'm not stuck at my desk all hours. Spring's coming, and there are lapwings in the flooded fields...

And Chris Wormell has come up with the most exquisite cover ever.

CONGRATULATIONS!

And all other appropriate sounds.
Cover brilliant. Libby says My God they DO get a cover right sometimes.

Review copies for me pls (And Living Bird and Sy Montgomery).

And write before you become so famous you can't (;-))

You're a writer, huh? Kinda, sorta? Me, too. Kinda. Sorta. I know for a fact, however, you gotta whole lotta intelligence behind those two ears, girl; thus, I wanna give you my finite existence: to intrinsically value the Great Beyond which I’ve learned to appreciate, to visualize the fundamental reality of infinity is why I‘m here for a teeny-weeny amount of time. Looky here...

Precisely why I had our ‘philanthropic + epiphany’ (=so much to give + vision): wanna see a perfectly cognizant, fully-spectacular, Son-ripened-Heaven?? … yet, I’m not sure if we're on the same page if you saw what I saw. Greetings, earthling. Because I was an actual NDE on the outskirts of the Great Beyond at 15 yet wasn’t allowed in, lemme share with you what I actually know Seventh-Heaven’s Big-Bang’s gonna be like: meet this advanced, bombastic, ex-mortal Upstairs for the most extra-groovy-paradox, pleasure-beyond-measure, Ultra-Yummy-Reality-Addiction in the Great Beyond for a BIG-ol, kick-ass, party-hardy, robust-N-risqué-passion you DO NOT wanna miss the sink-your-teeth-in-the-smmmokin’-hot-deal. Cya soon, girl…

Helen, you are amazing! The ludic, yet contemplative, undulation of the words you use along with the soaring flights of the hawks you delineate have been moving me to the core as I listen to your beautifully crafted book read in your own solemn voice on my recent drives, bringing tears to my eyes as I ponder our mortality on this earthly planet and grapple with questions of bereavement and loss that hover over my head as an exile whose elderly parents live miles away. Your father, who must have been exceptional in many ways, lives on in your text and one can see how he must have helped you acquire such a close connection with nature, literature and Being itself. Thank you for having shared your thoughts, sentiments and knowledge with us in such elegant prose.
